Frustrating beginning but ended well! |
I’ll amend my review once I get everything set up. But I wanted to let anyone know who may be purchasing this for a Christmas gift: just go to the manufacturer’s YouTube channel and you’ll see in five seconds how you’re supposed to get this camera charged. I’m not a technological idiot and could NOT figure out how to get the charging cord attached to this camera! There’s not one thing in the printed manual that would indicate that 1) the camera moved or 2) you angle the camera down, remove a piece and attach the cord. If the manufacturer is reading this, I would FAR PREFER you just insert a QR code into the packaging for your YouTube channel and I would’ve had absolutely no problems. At this point, I will say that I’m quite pleased with the feel of the product, meaning, it seems pretty well constructed. I’ll update my review once I’ve actually used this birdfeeder. I bought my mom one also, for Christmas, so I’m trying mine out right now. |
UPDATE: Overall, I’m very happy with my birdfeeder! The picture quality, as you can see, with the pictures in my review, is amazing! I expected more pixelated and less colorful photos, but as long as the bird is not right up against the camera, this takes really good pictures! The set up, as you see in my previous review, was a little frustrating, because of the lack of directions. A quick search on YouTube, and in 10 seconds, you’re up and running. The only thing I would say, is that if you need a pole mount for this birdfeeder, You’re going to need to rig one up yourself. This unit does not come with the option to mount it on a pole. We need a pole mount where I live because we are inundated with squirrels. If you don’t care about squirrels, you can mount this feeder anywhere you want with the bracket that comes attached and the strap that goes around a tree or post. My three children went in together and gave me this bird feeder camera for Fathers Day. Set it up on Father’s Day and started taking pictures. The next day it became increasingly difficult to connect to my phone.By Wednesday I was totally frustrated with it.On Thursday I completely removed the app on my phone and reset the camera and it started working like new for one day. Now it’s doing the same thing again. Either it won’t connect at all or it’s offline.The worst part is the instruction manual has neither a phone number or email address for customer support. |
I originally gave this bird house camera a negative review because it kept going offline during use and i became very frustrated.But, when I purchased the eero WiFi system from Amazon the bird house camera has worked flawlessly ever since.I really should have changed my review months ago so I apologize. |
