Initially the alkaline batteries I used lasted several months. However, as these camera age they began to gobble up battery life. I have minimized settings to maximize battery life and if I get a month out of the 12 batteries these cameras need I am amazed.. I have tried many battery brands, Energizer, Duracell, Panasonic, Kodak and the list goes on. Customer service is practically non-existent. I left phone messages and emails and nobody ever got back to me. It seems when you need customer service the most, during hunting season, they don’t staff enough people to handle the no doubt THOUSANDS of people who need assistance. If your hunting area is hours away, be prepared to visit there every 3 weeks to replace the batteries. The company will of course suggest that a solar panel or lithium batteries are the way to go .. and that might be … if you want to take a chance of having the solar panel stolen .. since they stick out like a sore thumbs. Lithium batteries .. sure, if you want to spend $90 a year. While reading complaints by other purchasers it seems this company is fond of telling people they need a “software upgrade” … really, for a 14 month old camera? Customers send their cameras back to the company and get them back with the very same problem! I wanted to like the several cameras I bought and use them for several years … not happening.
