Took a couple of days to discover that the rear waterproof charging port didn't work, although the one on top of the camera did work.Contacted NetVue (Birdfy) customer support via chat. Ian (probably not his real name) asked for photos of my Amazon receipt and the QR/serial number of the camera. I uploaded them to chat and Ian acknowledged receipt. Said RMA dept would contact me in 24-48 hours.Got an email 2 days later from Sophia at RMA support asking for photos again. I resent them by email.Waited 2 weeks. No response from NetVue. Got on chat again with Dahryl Anne. She asked for photos again. I uploaded and she acknowledged. "Wait 24-48 hours."2+ days later, back on chat with Ian. Told him that Dahryl Anne or NetVue never responded. He asked for photos again (now 4 times!) He acknowledged receipt. "Wait 24-48 hours."Becoming clear that NetVue chat support is offshored in some distant time zone (maybe India?) Everything has to wait for the earth to turn 10.5 hours. Sending them photos of your defective product seems to be just be a runaround or worse, since they seem to lie about actually receiving them...it's just a stall.Another 10 days and I finally receive a replacement unit. This was a gift for my wife. I'm suitably embarrassed. The replacement seems to work. Only took a month plus 5 hours on chat with NetVue. Wish I could send them a bill for my time.Now... the product review. The weak link is the Birdfy iOS app. Its a disorganized mess and really slow to respond. If you want to look at your camera view, it takes about 20 seconds to connect, even with a strong WiFi signal. The bird is gone by the time you connect.And the printed instructions are on a tiny fold-out paper pamphlet in many languages not much bigger than a playing card. Everything is in faint 4 point type. They should ship it with a jeweler's loupe! Website instructions are also pretty spotty. The iOS app tries to guide you through setup, but it's fairly obtuse. One star only for Birdfy's instructions.After weeks of runaround with customer service I went online to find out more about NetVue. Turns out everyone and everything is in China. No US contacts, no address, nothing except a toll free number and chat. Flashy website written by some PR flack. Outsourced and disorganized customer service.
