It would extend video detection so much further. Mounting 7-10ft with only 5% down angle is a very picky install requirement. Especially in urban areas where yards are small. If mounted on an eve basically has to point straight out for the motion to work. Mounting to one side to catch movement side to side does not help much. For the price I am disappointed in performance. Going to try the E330 “24/7” model that is soon to come out. I would like to add about motion. Not many specs are published on sell sheets. I’m guessing the tech used is passive infrared. With the heat in Houston ambient temperature is very close to body temp lowering sensitivity. Range controlled radar could be an option. GE/Interlogix has used this tech for years. Cook | 3.0 | Great concept -- Camera's need work | I have 4 cameras mounted on the front of my house, the installation and configuration was very easy. after 2 weeks of use the following issues have surfaced. Still images on the camera's are great, Zoom works great so long as its a relatively still image. The problem comes in when you have people moving through the field of view then it becomes very blurry and identification becomes impossible unless they stand still. Of the 4 cameras it seems response time is an issue, you'll see people moving out of the field of view away from the camera but rarely do you see them come into the field of view. With respect to the street views, all 4 cameras see the street, the camera that is furthest away from the street will pickup movement in the street while the ones (2) closest to the street will frequently see nothing, this is mostly observed with moving cars and other faster moving objects. Pedestrians are fine but the images are blurry. You would never be able to read license plates with these cameras unless the car is parked directly in front of the cameras. I think the concept is great i love the central control unit and have had no issues with wireless connectivity to the cameras. Installation and configuration is super easy.
