PTZ functionality is subpar

The cameras PTZ worked for about 3 days, then you had to go back into the camera settings and setup the patrol zones again. The camera software or hardware (gear + motor) software doesn't seem to have the ability to keep accurate Pan settings. After a week of use the cameras all 4 of them. Stopped moving to the left. I found it odd that it was only impacting 1 direction. I got tired of messing with them and just left them in a fixed position. Which seemed to work for what I needed at the time.Fast forward a few months later. I decided to replace the cameras with better quality cameras. I needed the PTZ functionality. After replacing the cameras. I decided to take one apart and found that the rotation was rubbing the wires bare and the red and black wire are snapped in half. I reconnected the two broken wires and wow! The camera now turns back to the left. I checked the other 3 cameras. Same wires were snapped.I would suggest to the engineers to redevelop the casing to were the wires don't rub and snap. Also work on correcting the Pan function so a person doesn't have to keep correcting it after a few days. Also if possible fix the case where debris doesn't get into the device. These cameras were 12 feet up in the air on a block wall.The flood light function works great. Picture is clear and sharp.Oh, the system setup I have. 3650g 24 port cisco switch with POE. I run BlueIris (security software) running on a windows 10; make shift server with 2 groups of 2x4 tb drives set to raid 0 |

Image is "good enough".The price was low enough so I thought I would give it a shot.Manufacture attempts to get you to download their software to access the camera to use any functionality.There is not a built-in webserver in the camera, everything runs through its software they have you download.However, if you are using this with a software or hardware NVR, you don't "need" to download the software. You do not need to register and create an account as the insert tells you. Use a good IP scanner to find the ip address of the camera it is DHCP to start.Set it up using ONVIF for everything admin with no password is default.Limited onvif control only pan and tilt, no zoom as stated. IF you want to make any changes to the camera though, ip, password, preprogrammed PTZ routines, you will need the software.The camera also has a direct connection back to China no matter if you download the software or not it is locked back to mommy. |
