Update to my previous rating. Seems to send notification if jostled, when set up correctly. |
Update: soon after registering this device and giving them my cellphone # for notifications from app, I'm now deluged with many spam texts from various numbers and even email addresses texting my phone!!!! It seems likely this company is selling our cellphone # to spammers - telemarketers, since while I received occassional spam texts before giving this app my #, right after I gave them my cell # the amount and frequency of spam scam unrequited telemarketing cellphone texts is skyrocketing!!! Totally not okay! And something i never agreed to! I'll be looking into filing complaints with FCC & related agencies.Previous review: I previously seem to have done something wrong in how I tested this device after installing it. As after moving my bike around back and forth to the point my other alarms went on, this one didnt send any notifications. I think I may have had my key fob with me before, or something else.As when I tested it again, with both my key fob and phone a block away from my motorcycle and the monimoto when i jostled the motorcycle, when I returned to my phone there was a missed call and an app notification saying it has detected movement. Success. Though the text of app notification said there was no available location date for where it was, when i opened the app and went into it it did show in a map where the motorcycle was fairly accurately.I tried it again later with my key fob a block away but my phone with me as i jostled the motorcycle again the next morning, but it never sent any notifications. Weird!? So it seems oddly it wont work to register and notify of movement if we have even just our phone near the motorcycle and monimoto device! That doesnt make sense to me. So deducting a star or two for that.Otherwise seems okay so far. |

Subscription only last a few months despite year long price. |
I have another GPS tracker which was half the cost, has twice the functionality, and has a year long subscription. Monimoto is mostly advertising and hype. Save your money and get a system that works better from Optimus. |
