I received this as a gift. A very expensive, but well intended gift. This is a clever idea and the camera is a fun feature. The only location for best use of the camera feature and solar mounting is the fence. But the \grey furry birds\ have taken up residence. Location is everything and it needs to be pole mounted to help block the squirrels. With the camera feature for me, this mandates mounting in the center of my yard on the grass. And I haven't even figured out how the solar panel could be mounted to the roof of Birdfy device or else a special mounting on the pole. The sound alert works, but the squirrels just sit there and stare in the camera. I have included hot red pepper flakes, but that makes no difference either. I will not use cayenne powder because of risk to the birds eyes. And that just leaves the very expensive professionally coated cayenne enriched seed. |
Edited:The camera is clear and the birds enjoy the feeder. It is enjoyable to see the birds close up feeding. This company makes a good product and stands behind it. The company has heard my situation and will reimburse the purchase. I think that is stellar. All in all if you consider that every bird feeder has squirrel issues then my comments are null if you plan for squirrels.
