Bad sound is worse than no sound to me. So when I say that the sound quality isn't even minimally good I mean it. I've tried these before and while it is try that the bass is better (especially if you put an in-ear silicon ear plug) the sounds are so muddled and smooshed together that it is literally torture for me to hear amazing music absolutely destroyed by these headphones. Plus the battery does not last long enough for me to complete a day on the road cycling and I'd have to port their custom charger around with me to recharge.I'm also an anomaly because I actually don't want to hear the traffic around me. When I ride I do it on exceptionally lonely, safe roads where removing all external sound is perfectly safe. I realize this is not everyone. In these cases, I can also get away with wearing obnoxious over the ear headphones. I haven't been able to find any that worked as well as the pair I had in the 90s that I removed from their connector and just held to my ears with a modified, under the helmet beanie or headband.
