Lastly, the transfer speed could be faster due to the WiFi radio's limitations.The camera's button-based interface is kind of crappy, too. I ended up using my husbands truck for work on Friday due to the large amount of snow still on the ground. We used his truck over the weekend and I did not get back into my car until Monday morning. My car would not start. It would not even let me press the brake down as if I was going to start it. We checked the battery, the voltage was at 1.2 but it’s supposed to be at least 13.7!!! We attempted to jump it with the truck but were STILL unable to get it to start because of how dead the battery was. On top of that, I had patients to go see and no longer had transportation. Luckily, my husband was off work that day so I was able to use his truck. It took 9 hours to recharge the battery using a wall outlet charger!! We immediately returned the camera and took the car in for service, where they told us that the battery draining was 100% caused by the camera. I don’t know why the camera doesn’t turn off when the car turns off, but I don’t want anyone else to be as surprised as I was! I do have to use a lot of my phones data when driving and using the dash cam because I can’t use my cars WiFi as mentioned before to have the camera function. Also having ti repeat the process and trying to remember to turn the camera on and connect it and all the steps needed to function every single time was also annoying.Seven/Eight months later I’m having even more issues where the camera won’t stay powered on and it keeps dropping the connection between my phone and it. What’s worse is when I go to turn the car on and the camera turns on, I do all the steps, think it’s functioning properly and somewhere between then and my destination the camera was off the whole time. I go to check the SD card when it disconnected and it is usually immediately after I start my drive. More so now it happens throughout the drive, chiming every time it’s turned off and turning back on throughout the entire drive until I just pull it out of the power source because it’s distracting and useless from that point.It takes me a long time to buy something as expensive as this camera. Lots of consideration and research. I had high hopes for this camera. I live in California and drive cross country occasionally; I would benefit immensely from a dash cam. Such a disappointment that I spent so much money and now the camera is practically useless. Now I don’t know what I’m going to do. I have a dash cam that works half the time and too broke to buy another. Maybe it’s the unit I have, maybe it’s not.I would highly recommend to do more research when buying a dash cam. Haven't fully tested the video, but my F7N older model was better, because this new model suffers from the following deficiencies:1. The supplied mount is poor. The new supplied mount for the front camera its suction, and it would not stay in place despite using oil and/or water and rotating the suction-forming knob.2. This new mount is longer than the original F7N adhesive mount thus encroaching on the view through the windshield.3. The power cord on the older F7N had a USB A plug, and thus I could use a cigarette lighter adapter with three USB A outputs. I could plug the older F7N into one of them giving me two spare USB outputs. This new model has the power cord molded into the CLA (cigarette lighter adapter) so the two spare outputs are gone.4. On the old F7N, one could set the rear-facing camera to occupy the entire or majority of the screen. With this new model, it seems that the user is stuck with the rear cam showing in a smaller window in the upper left.
