I had such high hopes for it, as it looked amazing and was a big upgrade from the stock deadbolt that was originally on my front door. Installation was extremely simple and the only issue that I ran into was that the hole size from the original deadbolt was slightly larger than this covered, but after I covered that up, I was able to install it and it it worked perfectly. Setup was a breeze and the fingerprint reader has worked seamlessly almost every time unless my hands are dirty. Battery life has been great as well, and recharging it is extremely fast and simple. The only problem that I have is that yesterday it completely stopped working out of the blue. I tried charging the battery but after reinstalling it, the lock didn’t power up or make the startup chime that it usually does. I checked the battery with a multi meter to see if maybe that was the problem but it was perfectly fine. I reinstalled it in hopes that it might work but no such luck. After about 4 hours, it all of a sudden turned back on, but only the keypad was working, the fingerprint reader wouldn’t read anything. I am unfortunately out of warranty now, but really thought I’d get more than two years out of it for that price, so I’m highly disappointed. I’ve been through 3 replacements already because they keep bubbling up like this. The product is not able to withstand outdoor conditions.The app does not let you turn off the annoying and embarrassing robot voice. When guests come over, you’ll be humiliated if the door lock thinks the deadbolt is blocked. You can not turn off the voice other than by opening the lock and physically unplugging the speaker.The finger print reader takes several seconds to activate, so you get to stand there for several seconds wondering whether or not the finger print sensor has detected your touch. They should have given it a physically clicking finger print reader so the user can confidently issue an unlock command by clicking.There is no Homekit or other interoperable API for this lock. I have been depending on a docker container image with a custom plugin that uses the Eufy android app to connect the door lock/unlock statuses into my Home Assistant instance.
