I got this a year ago, since week 3 I wanted to hop on here and talk about how it would disconnects randomly at moments when I'm outside and need to check on my anxious dog. Backstory: When I adopted my dog Milo, I wasn't aware he had such separation anxiety because he was a pandemic dog and I worked from home. Last year, when I had to return to work hybrid, I found out that when I'm away, he cries on and off for hours. It was a heart wrenching discovery. I hired a trainer and he had suggested that Milo should be returned because of his anxious behavior. We ended up working out a plan after the training where he would be calm for 3-4 hours at a time, I would sit in my car and work every night for three weeks training him with a camera. A while after, I went to a friend's house who had a similarly anxious dog and said that an automatic dispenser of treats was a thing. I tried a different pet feeder he recommended but the dispenser wanted a certain type of treat sizes and it became a hassle to organize. Then last year I looked for one on amazon. I did see that it had old reviews talking about a different performing product but I was desperate and low budget because I cut my working hours from the office.1: The sound the dispenser makes out of the WOpet caused my dog to be more anxious and hide whenever it was on.2: This behavior made me go about it as simply a camera and my voice would come out to reassure him with commands. Little did I know that the distorted sounds it made were giving Milo worse anxieties.3: The camera randomly disconnects when I'm outside and I can't check on my dog. I had to reset it over 20 times in the course of this year. The pairing can take a couple of tries every single time.4: The dound doesn't come out because my dog would be howling and I can't ear it to address the concern.So long story short, I paid for an overpriced camera that makes screeching sounds at dispensing a calming treat and voice is so distorted my dog thinks I'm a monster in the white box.I hope innovation has made a better product, but at the price point of a ring camera, I expected a better performace. I thought shrinkflation was about quantity not quality. |
