I really only use an automatic feeder for the stray cats when i go out of town and I already had one that I was satisfied with but the raccoons would come and stick their hands up the feeder shoot and get food out that way and they quickly figured out how to open the top of the feeder which made it easier to get the food. So I was looking for something that was better at keeping the raccoons out.I saw quite a few reviews on this product saying that the raccoons couldn't figure out how to get in it so I decided to buy it even though it was pretty expensive and didn't have some of the features that I was used to. I shouldn't have wasted my time.I set it up inside a plastic storage bin with a hole cut out for the bowl to go through it. Duct taped the storage bin shut and put some bricks on top of it. I already knew the raccoons could get in the storage bin but was hoping the tape and bricks would delay them getting to the feeder but that didn't work too well either.
