It works well for a year or so and then it's kind of anyone's guess. |
This worked really well for the first year. I also had the divider attachment and it worked so well for my two cats. Unfortunately, after the first year, I noticed that the portion sizes were really off on one side. One side would end up with about four times what it should be. I took the whole thing apart and cleaned it really well, just to be sure I wasn't missing something. Nope, still doesn't work correctly. It just dumps a ton of food each time, regardless of what the settings are. Oh well. I guess they don't make them to last. |

Had used this successfully for a few years, despite occasional error codes resulting in re-programming--- which was a horrible process.However, if you have a desperate pet who tends to climb on things, realize that having them stand on the easy-to-access control buttons can result in an error code---and NO FOOD WILL BE DISPENSED! That is what began to happen in our house.HOW TO CORRECT AND F02 ERROR CODE --- It is a MAJOR feat to correct this:1. Remove all food from the hopper, chute and what may have fallen into the motor area.2. Remove the 4 D batteries from the bottom of the feeder.3. Then re-position the batteries.4. Re-position and lock the chute in.5. Re-position and fill the hopper with dry food.6. Reprogram all your meal settings7. Start the process to activate the chute for dispensing of first meal.8. Pray that this works againThen you find out the next day that your pet stood on the buttons to try and pry the cover off, and you get to repeat this all over again!CONS:--Complicated programming instructions---simply AWFUL!!--Poor product design with buttons vulnerable to pet standing on them resulting in error code--Abysmal process to remove food debris and crumbs from EXPOSED motor in bottom of feeder--NO AC power supply includedThis is a first generation automatic pet feeder at best, and there are many other better-designed feeders available at a lower price point that will not have you creating new swear words each time you have to dismantle this POC. |
