IeGeek Warranty is Useless |
Firstly I must say this is a brilliant piece of kit which I will thoroughly endorse however, after providing a superb security service on the top of my narrowboat, I had to remove the camera to carry out roof maintenance on the boat.When I tried to replace the camera it would not switch back on again, I tried charging it from the solar panel and also from a suitable mains charger all to no avail. I also tried the reset and power button method of restarting it, once again with no result.I contacted customer service who told me to try everything that I had tried, still no result, surprise surprise. Having admitted that their representative was an 'intern' who had not understood their own warranty period, they finally admitted it was still within the warranty period and offered me a 20% discount off a new device!!!!! When told that this was not acceptable, I asked them to replace the camera, as I still believe that it is a good camera, I was informed that their supplier was out of stock and so couldn't supply one!!! I questioned whether they were the only supplier and was informed that they couldn't get stock from another supplier as Amazon will not allow it ????????????????Having taken advice from our local Trading Standards Office we are now pursuing a legal case against ieGeek's Customer Service Department as they are clearly in breach of their own warranty.As always Caveat Emptor. |
