I believe you can simply go into the automatic feeding mode and use #1. You will set the time for this first, and only, feeding. (Remember to use the 24 hr clock). The manual is confusing but what you need is on page 11&12. After you set the time for feeding #1, you will have to cycle through #2-6 and set these for a zero portion. The important piece to do first is to do a manual feeding and find out how much is ejected when you select only 1 portion. When I did that I learned that my cat would need 2 portions 4x/day and 1 portion 2x/day. (This hefty guy is on a strict diet!) Best of luck! | Pat | 2022-10-21 |

Even so, I have found that it is necessary to empty and wipe out the feeder monthly. It probably suggests that in the manual, also, but I had to learn it the hard way.
